Bride and groom: Jessica + Joseph
Tell us a little about your love story:
We met in school in the 1st grade. He was my only crush in school since 3rd grade, and our freshman year we started dating. We became high school sweethearts, we fell in love and knew it wasn’t just the typical puppy love. This Novemeber marks 10 years of our entire relationship, we are truly soulmates.
Wedding date:January 12th, 2014
I choose dark colors since I was having a winter wedding. I loved the dark rich colors. My wedding date was chosen to be around my birthday. The day after to be exact. I wanted my 24th birthday gift to be to spend the rest of my life with my soulmate.
My dress was an Allure wedding dress. I fell in love with lace, bejeweled mermaid style. It was my third dress I tried on out of 20. Nothing else compared to it. My mother also made my veil, it was a spanish style, cathedral length veil.
The Groom’s look:
Joseph wore a Zara navy blue suit with black collar accent, paired with a white polka dot button up and black skinny bow tie.
Bridal Party look:
My bridesmaids had their dresses hand sewn. It was a fitted knee length dress, silver underlay with navy blue lace over. Each fit like a glove, with black Guess pumps, and black laced hats.
My favorite moment was walking down the aisle with my father waiting to see the love of my life at the end of the aisle. We played a non traditional wedding song, by Luciano Pavarotti-Nessun dorma. The music added such a epic, dramatic feel to go with the cathedral style chapel.
One thing I learned:
To have a wedding planner!!!
My wedding must have:
To add to the decor at the reception, we rented chiavari chairs to go with tall silver candelabras on the table.
My veil was my favorite part, it was 6 ft long. It added such a beautiful dramatic effect. Everyone fell in love with it, and the fact my mother made it was just more special.
Our favors completely described us. We bought small mason jars and made stickers with our silhouettes on top with our initials and filled each with verona coffee, which happens to be the coffee of love. We are coffee lovers.
If I could do it over again:
I would want to the whole ceremony over again, just to feel the excitement and emotions, just the beauty of it all. I’d love to relive that moment over.
Anything you’d like to add:
The seating was chaos. With such a huge mexican family, it was hard to get people in order.
